Happy New Year! I hope this message finds you well and that you've had a restful holiday season. Sorry if it took a bit longer to reply from my end to any texts or emails.
Over the break, I was treated to some much needed family time with my partner, Nicola, and our two boys. We were fortunate to enjoy terrific beach weather- my happy place. Sadly no surfing as the knee is still mending. My favourite moment of the 2 weeks off was watching Nicola teach Leo how to body surf- incredibly adorable!
New Year, New Skin Care Resolutions
As we step into 2025, it's the perfect time to reflect on our goals and set new resolutions. Have you considered any skincare resolutions for the new year? Simplifying and maintaining consistency in your skincare routine can yield significant benefits.
Here are some simple foundational steps to remember:
Regular Sunscreen Use: Protecting your skin from harmful UV rays is essential year-round.
Moisturising: Keeping your skin hydrated helps maintain its barrier function and overall health.
Vitamin A Serums: Incorporating a vitamin A serum can promote cell turnover and improve skin texture.
Beauty from Within: I will ask Nicola to do a seperate post on this but what you eat and drink has HUGE impacts on your skin.
Treating yourself to a facial can also rejuvenate your skin and provide a fresh start for the year.

Enhancing Wrinkle Reduction Treatments with Zinc
I’ve been meaning to mention this during appointments, but in case I forgot to tell you, here’s something exciting to consider before your next appointment!
Recent studies suggest that taking a zinc supplement around the time of your wrinkle reduction treatments (I cant say the name of the exact treatment due to TGA but you know the one) could actually help prolong and enhance your results.
One study published in the Journal of Drugs in Dermatology found that participants who took 50 mg of Zinc experienced an increase in the duration of their treatment effects by nearly 30%! Another systematic review also highlighted zinc supplementation as a potential booster for the effectiveness and longevity of the wrinkle treatment.
If you’re curious about whether this might be right for you, feel free to ask me about it at your next appointment or shoot me a text. Let’s make your results even better!
There are lots of unknowns regarding how effective it is for each client and timing/duration but I would suggest taking 5 days before and after your treatment. Any of your favourite over the counter Zinc is ok. I prefer Bioceuticals or Thorne.
NB. People taking certain medications (antibiotics, ACE inhibitors) or who have certain chronic conditions may not be suitable to take Zinc, please check with you GP or local Pharmacist.
